Off for Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2: What to do now
The end did not come as a surprise, yet a surprising number of companies are faced with the question: What now? Since January 14th 2020, Windows 7 is no longer supported and the same applies to Server 2008 R2.
As Microsoft will no longer issue any security patches for both operating systems; all companies running Windows 7 or 2008R2 will put themselves at severe risk from cyber attacks and prosecution for criminal negligence.
This can only mean one thing: To act quickly in the interest of security! This means switching to Windows 10 and Server 2019. Upgrading takes careful planning and Corporate customers can purchase security updates for Win 7 and Server 2008 R2, for a fee – but only until early 2023.
RNT Rausch and our team of technical experts are here to help with the planning and roll out of these upgrades, so please contact us for help.
