Immersion cooling solutions for all data centers
As data centers and cloud providers face growing demands for higher density and efficiency, alternative cooling solutions are becoming essential. With Ixora’s innovative immersion cooling technology, you can achieve lower energy consumption while optimizing the performance of your server infrastructure. Designed for demanding computing environments, this solution helps reduce Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), making it a critical component for future-ready data centers.
Immersion cooling is the future
At RNT Rausch, we are convinced that immersion cooling is the future. During cooling with liquids, the heat is no longer cooled by (directed) air flows, but by a liquid. The capacity of the heat exchange is greater than with air cooling. And there is virtually no loss due to ineffective cooling by the unnecessary cooling of empty server racks and blank plates, as is the case with air cooling. The residual heat, usually via warm water with air cooling, can also be dissipated more easily.
We currently see possibilities for mounting cassettes with coolant in the data centre rack. This creates a cooling bath in a normal data centre rack, so to speak, which makes the weight problem and the different dimensions of the large baths a thing of the past. This results in maximum density and optimal cooling of only the intensive computing capacity. Power consumption decreases immediately, without reducing the reliability of the components. In addition, the individual specifications per server can be adjusted and maintained completely separately.
This flexible and modular approach makes liquid cooling not only suitable for the largest data centre locations but also applicable for the edge and small server rooms.
Benefit from
Energy Efficiency: Immersion cooling cuts energy use by submerging servers in non-conductive liquid, removing the need for air cooling and reducing power consumption by up to 50%, leading to lower costs.
Improved Performance and Reliability: Immersion cooling keeps servers at optimal temperatures, preventing overheating and hardware failures. This extends equipment lifespan and ensures peak performance, even in high-density computing environments.
Higher Density: Immersion cooling removes air cooling limitations, enabling more computing power in less space.
Reduced Environmental Impact: Immersion cooling uses less energy, reducing carbon emissions and promoting more sustainable data center operations—an ideal solution for companies aiming to achieve green IT goals.
Lower Noise and Maintenance: Immersion cooling eliminates the need for fans and other mechanical cooling systems, making data centers quieter and reducing the amount of maintenance required for cooling equipment.
iXora HRM-4
Modular immersion rack mount system for four cassettes
The HRM-4 is the world´s first system offering immersion ccoling as a flexible rack mountable solution for existing data center environments.
Achieving a power usage effectiveness (PUE) of less than 1.04 it helps reducing data center power needs, cutting energy costs up to 50 %, while at the same time realizing a sable, yet compact and future proof power density of up to 4 kW per cassette, 16 kW per chassis.
Closed cassets making life easy
While most current immersion systems offer an open bathtub, where the hardware is placed in a tank of liquid, the iXora HRM-4 solution consists of closed cassets containing the compute, heat axchanger and the dielectric liquid. This way it is easy to performa maintenance in a cork area instead of having to take out the compute on the data floor, causing spots of spilled liquid that may result in dangerous, slippery situations. The closed cassette communicates via the HRM supervisor board about its health and temperature conditions, guaranteeing optimal operating conditions for the CPUs.
